Casa de Piedra, the signature restaurant of Hacienda Xcanatun by Angsana, is a landmark in the city of Merida. The cuisine of the Zacatecan Chef Reyna García, is defined as regional and spontaneous. Chef Reyna, with a contagious smile and a peculiar taste for sharing anecdotes from inside the kitchen, has lots of fun exploring with fresh, local ingredients offered every day. Her cuisine is characterized by a particular explosion of flavors, that catches everyone by surprise and leaves a profound taste of unexpectedness.

The Yucatan boasts a deserved worldwide reputation thanks to the intense and long-lasting flavors of its food. Casa de Piedra's menu is a culinary poem, featuring stellar dishes such as the delicious Xcanatun Poached eggs (with a touch of chipotle chili); Lime chicken soup; Catch-of-the-day with lime risotto, mascarpone cheese, asparagus and fresh-grilled lime; or the Tlayuda* with Cochinita** that surfaces the peninsula’s roots and fuses them with those of the rest of Mexico.

*Tlayuda is a handmade dish consisting of a large, thin, crunchy, partially-fried or toasted tortilla, covered with a spread of refried beans, lettuce or cabbage, avocado, Oaxaca cheese, and salsa. **Cochinita is a slow-roasted pork marinated in achiote or annatto seed paste.
