Angsana Velavaru

Angsana Velavaru Maldives is located in the pristine South Nilandhe (Dhaalu) Atoll.

We offer seamless transfers from Velana International Airport in Malé to our resort via a scenic seaplane journey, followed by a short 5-minute speedboat ride. We are situated approximately 142 km away from Velana International Airport (a 40-minute journey by seaplane, subject to weather conditions).

Seaplanes are operated by a third-party company and are designed for water take-off and landing.  Therefore, their flying times are restricted to daylight hours (between 6:00 am and 3:30 pm only) by the Maldives Civil Aviation Authority.

Transfer timings are arranged based on your flight arrival/departure time if coming from an international flight. If coming from another resort or island, transfer timings are organised based on your local transfers.

Transfer timings are confirmed the night before your arrival. Please provide your flight details at least 48 hours before your arrival date.

Seaplane transfers can be arranged for international flights landing before 3:00 pm only. If your flight is scheduled to land afterwards, you will need to arrange your own overnight accommodation and transportation to Malé or Hulhumale on your arrival date.

Please advise us of your hotel accommodation details for us to coordinate your next-day seaplane timings to your hotel in Malé or Hulhumale.

Angsana Velavaru’s airport representative will meet you outside the arrival gate, holding a signage of the resort logo. If you are unable to spot them, you can proceed to counter A-16 and wait for further assistance. Resort counters are located in front of the arrival gate.

Our airport representative will escort you to the seaplane check-in counters.

• The luggage weight limit is 20 kg for checked luggage and 5 kg for hand luggage with no additional charges. 
• Excess weight incurs USD 5 plus taxes per kg, payable directly at the seaplane check-in counter.  Rate may change without prior notice.
• Infants (0-2 years) are not entitled to a complimentary baggage allowance.  However, a baby stroller can be carried without additional charges.
• The number of bags and handbags is not limited to one piece.  The entire 25 kg can be used for check-in luggage, if the guest does not have a handbag.
• No special extra allowance for water sports gear such as scuba diving equipment, surfboards, and similar equipment.

You can enjoy access to Vilu Business Lounge at the Seaplane Terminal including complimentary Wi-Fi, Food & Beverage (Buffet / Á la carte) and Mother’s Room while waiting for the seaplane transfers to our resort.

Our team will arrange your departure transfer based on your international flight.

If you have an early morning international flight departing from Malé before 9:00 am, we would advise you to arrange your own overnight accommodation in Malé or Hulhumale one night prior to your departure date to ensure that you are on time for your international flight’s check-in and departure.

The resort has no control over the seaplane schedules, which can be affected by weather conditions.

PADI Bubble Maker Course (Ages 8-9): This introductory program allows children to experience the thrill of breathing underwater in a safe and controlled environment. Equipped with child-sized scuba gear, they'll explore the shallow lagoon under the supervision of our PADI-certified instructors.

PADI Discover Scuba Diving Course (Ages 10 and Up): Children over 10 can discover the wonders of the underwater world with the PADI Discover Scuba Diving Course. This program provides a brief introduction to scuba diving, allowing them to experience the feeling of breathing underwater and explore the shallow reefs with a certified instructor by their side.
