Menghun Local Market Discovery Tour

Every Saturday morning, this local farmers' market brings together people from the surrounding villages to sell their fresh vegetables and fruits, handcrafted knittings, colourful costumes, and more. One of the busiest markets in Xishuangbanna, it offers visitors a glimpse into the daily lives and artisanal talents of the region's residents.

Experience Paper Making in Manzhao Village

Manzhao Village, a small village surrounded by tropical rainforest, is known for its ancient craft of paper-making. Every family in the village makes paper in the courtyards of their homes using original paper-making techniques that date back 1,800 years. Travellers are welcome to witness the paper-making process firsthand.

Wild Elephant Valley

Wild Elephant Valley is a national level 4A scenic tourist spot and the only place in China where you can observe wild Asian elephants. Wild Elephant Valley features an Asian elephant species breeding centre, Asian elephant ecological observation areas, wild animal viewing zones, folk culture display areas, a bird park, and a butterfly park.

Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden

Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden is a national level 5A (highest level) scenic attraction that integrates scientific research, species preservation, and popular science tourism.


The garden covers a vast expanse of 1,066 hectares and includes more than 13,000 species of tropical plants, making it China's largest botanical garden and the base for the preservation and research of tropical plant germplasm in China.

Jinuo Village

Home to the majority of the Jinuo people, Jinuo Mountain Village showcases the rich history, culture, religion and traditional lifestyles of the Jinuo ethnic minority, the last of China's 56 ethnic groups to be officially recognised. The village is the only place in China that holds live local performances highlighting Jinuo culture.
