Standing at a height of 583 metres, Huangyang mountain in central and western Doumen District, Zhuhai, commands a sweeping view of the three magnificent estuaries of the Pearl River. Perched on the main peak of the Mountain, the over-300-year-old Jintai Temple sits amidst the verdant beauty of nature, veiled in mountain mist and clouds of incense. Enjoy the breathtaking views from the temple of the surrounding green hills, beautiful valleys and shimmering waters.

Stretching 28 km between the lush mountains and the stunning coastline of Zhuhai, Lovers Road is a not-to-be-missed destination. Take a stroll here with your sweetheart and listen to the gentle rush of waves against the rocky coastline and the rustling of palms lining the road. Look out at the city of Macau across the sea or ride a bike and feel the cool ocean breeze in your hair.

Along this road and rising above the picturesque Xianglu Bay is an iconic sculpture of a graceful fishing girl. She holds a pearl aloft, admiring its luminosity that symbolises the simple beauty of Zhuhai.

Located in the Meixi Village in Qianshan Town of Zhuhai, Meixi Memorial Archways were completed in 1891 in honour of Chen Fang, China's first Consul General to Hawaii, and his parents. The granite archways are delicately engraved with vivid depictions of rare animals. Don't forget to drop by the formal residence of the Chen family in the village. The exquisite engravings on the parlour's walls and windows deserve special notice.

Discover the traditional water wedding customs of Doumen District. The century-old tradition has been recognised as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage of China. Witness the bride gracefully make her way towards the groom in a wooden boat decorated with red ribbons and flowers to the beat of folk songs and drums. Share their joy and happiness and give them your heartfelt blessings.

The oldest and most important festival in China. In preparation for the New Year, houses are thoroughly cleaned, debts are repaid, hair is cut, and new clothes are bought. Doors are decorated with vertical red paper scrolls inscribed with characters symbolising praise and good fortune. Incense is burned in many homes and temples as a sign of respect for the ancestors. New Year's Day is often spent visiting neighbours, family, and friends.

Spanning 1,390 sqm at the foot of Stone Forest Mountain on Jiuzhou Avenue in Zhuhai, the New Yuan Ming Palace stands as a cultural theme park. It replicates 18 scenic spots of the original Old Summer Palace (Yuan Ming Palace) in Beijing, which was destroyed during the 18th century Opium War. Towering ornamental pillars, white marble railings, spacious yards paved with slate-blue flagstones, and magnificent palaces bring history to life.
