Stay for Good

In our view the mission of business and the purpose of growth are to build a better society for all. We see sustainability not only in terms of the environment, but also in terms of the benefit to the communities we operate in. This has been Banyan Tree’s ethos since the company was founded and continues to be the guiding principle. We created ‘Stay for Good’ which encompasses our sustainability efforts and encourages our guests to get involved through a number of new initiatives. We believe we can do well and do good at the same time.

New this year, Banyan Tree has added a series of guest voluntourism activities which will take place across Banyan Tree and Angsana hotels and resorts, offer guests a unique opportunity to actively participate in empowering and enhancing the environment and lives around the destinations in which we operate.

Greening Communities Together: Designed to take place around World Environment Day. From 2 – 8 June our hotels commit to plant two trees per room night as a gesture of environment conservation and habitat protection. Guests will be invited to get involved and be part of this planting effort during the week.

Feeding Communities Together: Created around the celebration of World Food Day. From 13 – 19 October we aim to support and empower communities through food. Guests will be invited to support and serve host communities by preparing and serving meals for local community members.

Get involved further:  Throughout the year sustainability projects for guests to engage in at specific resorts including the Banyan Tree Maldives Marine Lab, school programmes in Phuket and Bangkok, the on-property nature reserve in Ras Al Khaimah, learning about endangered Melipona bees in Mexico, Banyan Tree Bintan’s Conservation Lab and releasing turtles into the wild at many coastal resorts.
