Ouarzazate
Explore the south of Morocco via the Tichka Pass and Telouet Track. Ouarzazate is a gateway for excursions across the Draa Valley and the desert. Visit ‘Glaoua’ country and the UNESCO World Heritage village (‘ksar’) site of Ait Ben Haddou, the Skoura palmgrove and the ‘Street of the 1000 Kasbahs’.
Ouarzazate is located in the middle of a bare plateau, south of the Atlas Mountains. The town is inhabited by Berbers who constructed several ‘kasbahs’ or palace quarters. It is a famous location for making films. ‘Lawrence of Arabia’ and ‘Star Wars’ were shot in Ouarzazate.
