Pak Ou Cave Tour by Slow Boat
Explore Pak Ou (mouth of the Ou river), Tham Ting (lower cave) and Tham Theung (upper cave) overlooking the Mekong River, 25 kilometres from Luang Prabang. The group of caves, about two hours upstream from the centre of Luang Prabang, is famous for miniature Buddha sculptures. The figurines are laid out on walls in several poses, including meditative, teaching, peace, and reclining (nirvana) positions. Unfortunately, a majority of them have been damaged over the years.
