Architecture

Angsana Great Barrier Reef embraces tropical elegance with an Asian touch. It translates into a fusion of architectures that complements modern living.

Architecture

In 1989, Leigh Ratcliffe, a globally respected architect of tropical resorts in Australia, designed the ‘Jewel of the Reef’ resort. The Banyan Tree group acquired the resort and renamed it as Angsana Great Barrier Reef in 2000.

Our boutique resort is located at Palm Cove, which retains its village charm even after being patronised by generations of global travellers. Local hoteliers adopt a responsible policy of restricting the height of structures to the palm trees that dot the beach.

Angsana Great Barrier Reef echoes the village flavour with open air restaurants overlooking the beach and spa rooms with ocean views.
