Weather
The dry season from late March to early November is marked by sunny days and a calm sea. From late November to early March, it is usually windy with passing showers. Bintan is blessed with sunny skies, all year round.

Time zone
Bintan is in the same time zone as Jakarta, 7 hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). Bintan is one hour behind Singapore time.

Language
Bahasa Indonesia is the national language. English is widely spoken.

Currency
The main currency of Indonesia is the Rupiah (Rp); use it for sightseeing and shopping trips. A majority of hotels and resorts accept Visa, MasterCard and American Express credit cards as well as the Singapore Dollar (S$).

Dress code
Casual clothes in cotton and natural fibres are recommended due to high day temperature and humidity.
