Khaiphaen Restaurant - Lao Creative Tapas

Khaiphaen is named after a popular Laotian snack made of crispy Mekong River weed unique to Luang Prabang. Enjoy creative Lao cuisine, as well as great shakes and cocktails. Some of the dishes you would find in their menu; grilled beef salad with Szechuan peppers and Crispy Frangipani Flowers, Mekong river fish & chips, mango Slaw and Line-dill tartar sauce and green curry with pumpkin, eggplant and smoked bean curd. The restaurant also has a small gift shop attached to it, selling products made by families which will help keep their children in education. Khaiphaen is run by Peuan Mit, an organization founded by Friends-International in Vientiane in 2004, in partnership with the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare to address the needs of street children and young people in Laos.
