Seaplane sight-seeing transfers

A 45-minute seaplane flight from Male airport to Velavaru gives guests the opportunity to marvel at breathtaking views of beautiful isle formations and the different hues of ocean blues in the Maldives.

The flight also offers excellent opportunities for aerial photography which allows one the chance to capture the natural beauty of the Maldives as seen from above; the small islands dotting the vast ocean at regular intervals resemble gems of all shapes, sizes and colours – the perfect souvenir to show your loved ones at home.

Late Night Catches / Sunset Fishing / Deep Sea Catches (Night)

Leave for fishing in Maldivian style on a local boat with a guide. This is a group activity where the local Maldivian style of fishing (hand, line, bait and weight) will be used to attract and catch reef fish.

The most common catches are snappers, groupers, jack fishes and other reef fishes found in shallower areas of the reef. When you’re back at the resort, you can arrange for your catch to be prepared for a hearty meal.

You will also be able to take in views of the sunset on this trip. Be sure to bring a camera to snap pictures of your catch with a backdrop of the Maldives sunset!

“The Real Maldives” Tour

Visit two local Maldivian islands (Meedhoo & Bandidhoo) and experience first-hand local cultures and the Maldivian way of life. Explore attractions on the islands and bring home local handicrafts and other souvenirs made by indigenous inhabitants.

“Life Beyond The Blues” Safari

Explore an unspoilt marine ecosystem with a biologist from Angsana Velavaru’s marine laboratory. Visit two different dive locations on one trip and see the variety of colours and different experiences each brings. You will be able to see turtles, rays, huge schools of reef fish and various types of colourful corals in their natural habitat.

Be sure to bring along an underwater camera or casing to relive these memories back home!

Sunset Cruise

Enjoy a scenic Maldivian sunset on a "Dhoni" (local fishing boat) while sipping freshly-prepared cocktails and wine with your loved ones.

Maldivian Flavours (Maldivian cooking class)

Wish to relive the gastronomic experiences served up by our chefs?

Step into Angsana Velavaru’s over-water restaurant Funa and learn the step-by-step preparation, cooking and serving of delicious Maldivian dishes; from butter chicken to chicken curry.

A glass of house wine, a recipe booklet, and some preparation items will be presented to guest participants.

Best Shaken (Cocktails preparation)

Learn how to concoct cocktails such as the refreshing Mojito or tropical favourite Melon Breeze on a sunny afternoon at Angsana Velavaru.

Held twice a week at the Kuredhi Bar, the bar supervisor will show you how to prepare, concoct and serve 5 all-time favourite cocktails. A cocktail recipe booklet will be presented for you to shake up a storm back home!

Castaway Dining

So, what would you wish for if you were stranded on a deserted island?

How about the company of a special loved one, a delectable dining set-up, and privacy and space to do anything you wish?

Angsana Velavaru’s Castaway Dining experience takes you to a beautiful Maldives isle in the middle of the Indian Ocean with nothing hindering you from spending quality moments and memories with your partner.

Castaway Dinner

If guests opt for a Castaway Dinner, they depart between 1815 and 1830. After a 20 minute speedboat trip, they arrive at an uninhabited Maldivian island to enjoy a romantic 3-course BBQ dinner on the beach. Guests are looked after by one waiter and one chef who prepares the meal. Guests will return between 2130 and 2200.

Castaway Picnic

For the castaway picnic, guests are left on an uninhabited Maldivian island in the early afternoon where they can spend approximately 5 hours on the island dining, snorkelling, and relaxing; after which they are picked up by our speedboat again. A picnic basket is prepared with light snacks and refreshments.
